Manual for the puller TED31496 (Manual #55)

The TED31496 puller designed for Tesla Model 3 / Y vehicles significantly simplifies and speeds up the replacement of the rear knuckle bushings. The tool consists of 5 components and is suitable for both standard bushings and spherical (compliant) bushings.
When using the puller, it is essential to properly lubricate the screw threads to ensure long service life and trouble-free operation.

Bushing Replacement Procedure

Standard bushing. Install the pressing adapter A and the receiving adapter B.
Assemble the tool using the previously well-lubricated bolt E.

Slowly press out the bushing by tightening the nuts, ensuring that the pressing adapter enters the knuckle bore evenly.

Compress the new bushing with a metal band to facilitate installation. Install the pressing adapter A and the support adapter B.
Tighten using a well-lubricated bolt, ensuring the bushing enters the bore evenly.

Correctly installed (pressed-in) bushing.

Spherical (compliant) bushing. Install the pressing adapter D and the receiving adapter C.
Then assemble the tool using the well-lubricated bolt E.

Slowly press out the bushing by tightening the nuts, ensuring that the pressing adapter enters the knuckle bore evenly.

Position the new bushing, install the pressing adapter D and the support adapter C, then tighten using the well-lubricated bolt.

Press in the bushing, ensuring it enters the bore evenly.

9

Correctly installed (pressed-in) bushing.
