The process of replacing the bushing with a metal-polyurethane or non-glued metal-rubber bushing (Manual #20)

For some bushings, the design may consist of two separate elements. This solution is more popular in the case of polyurethane bushings, but it is also sometimes found in bushings whose main element is rubber. In the case of such a solution, it is important to pay attention to the sequence of pressing in, and it is also worth paying attention to the fact that the damping element (rubber / polyurethane) should be pressed in about half its length before the inner sleeve is pressed in. The following is the procedure for replacing this type of bushing:

How should the bushing be properly replaced with a 2-piece version?

Before disassembling

B – When pressing out, apply the press on the upper surface of the outer sleeve
C – Press
D – Auxiliary bushing for pressing out
E – Outer bushing
F – Inner bushing with rubber / polyurethane
G – Control arm
H – Support control arm using blocks
